Turks & Caicos Travel and Tourism

Turks & Caicos Islands - Photo by gotraveltalk.com

The Turks and Caicos are a group of islands located north of the island of Hispaniola and east of Cuba. Even though the islands are a 90-minute plane ride from Miami, they remain relatively un-traveled compared to more popular Caribbean locations. With white sand beaches and clear water, they are quintessential Caribbean destinations.

Dozens of national marine parks and sanctuaries such as Chalk Sound National Park and Malcolm’s Beach make the Turks and Caicos a popular choice for scuba divers and snorkelers.

With some of the most pristine beaches in the Caribbean, the islands also attract those simply looking to relax in the sun. Horseback riding, sailing, and scuba tours are offered by local tour operators, so you’ll have your choice of ways to take in the natural beauty of the islands.

The Turks and Caicos have a total land area of 430 square kilometres (170 sq mi) and the official language is English.
