La Posada de Garrido is a family development within the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve (SDR) in the community of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo. The area is known simply as Tumbira, since it is on the banks of the Igarapé Tumbira stream.

The community is home to the Agnello Bittencourt core sustainable conservation area, a multifaceted community service structure that serves the 19 communities of the SDR. It has a school, a health center, accommodations for students and teachers, a digital lab, multipurpose room, nursery, garden, and an operational base of support for institutional allies. The community is about 68 km (42 miles) from Manaus, the state capital.
