Posada Rural Oasis is located in Caño Negro, between the cantons of Guatuso (45 km), Upala (35 km), and Los Chiles (25 km), in the province of Alajuela in northern Costa Rica. Caño Negro is a small town of humble, hardworking farmers. Surrounding it is a huge, beautiful freshwater lake that is flooded by the Río Frío in the rainy season. The area also contains a National Wildlife Refuge that is a Ramsar site and the core of the Agua y Paz Biosphere Reserve.
Caño Negro is an excellent place to relax and enjoy fresh air, natural beauty, local and migratory birds, reptiles, and mammals - the flora and fauna here is impressive and the wetlands are recognized as being globally important. Caño Negro is the paradise of the Northern Zone!
