Description

INBioparque, conveniently located minutes from San José, offers visitors an introduction to all of Costa Rica in a single place. This ecological park offers an interactive experience, bringing the natural treasures of Costa Rica to families, students, and visitors. Your expedition will be unforgettable thanks to the expertise of our guides.

The tour begins with a short presentation about INBio and diversity in Costa Rica. The visitors then tour the park on a series of trails with different representative samples of the tropical forests - the rainforest, premontane forest, wetlands, and the dry forest. From a safe distance, you can get to know many of the park’s residents, such as poison dart frogs, butterflies, iguanas, sloths, caimans, birds, turtles, snakes, and more. You can also look at beautiful orchids, heliconias, and bromeliads, as well as visit our farm and medicinal plant garden. The walk concludes with a presentation about the national parks and protected areas of Costa Rica.

For your convenience, we offer a restaurant, ample parking, and wheelchair accessibility.

INBio is the National Biodiversity Institute of Costa Rica, a nonprofit organization founded in 1989 for scientific research and to promote the conservation of the nation’s rich biological diversity. INBioparque was born as an accessible alternative for the public that enhances education and bioliteracy through exhibits and entertaining stations about diverse topics with useful data.

As for the community, we participate in extensive recycling programs through the Santo Domingo de Heredia area, we support institutions that share our mission, and we also offer advisory services to different companies so that they support the conservation of biodiversity and make use of green practices.
