Making a Difference

As a participant on one of our tours, you will contribute to conservation through a donation to the Pure Earth project, which was created to conserve the natural and cultural resources of Nicaragua. It has three main focuses: reforestation, forest conservation, and local conservation and social development.

Pure Earth strives to create a sustainable future for Nicaragua and people living in rural communities through conservation of the environment and its endangered species. Our goals are to conserve, educate, and create long-term benefits for small communities in Nicaragua by implementing long-term conservation projects that will have a minimum duration of five years in order to produce a positive sustainable outcome. For example, in 2013 The Pure Earth Project is focusing on sea turtle conservation, education, and community work in the Isla Juan Venado mangrove reserve region.

Green Pathways is a member of Tour Operators Promoting Sustainability (TOPS), a specialized global platform of tour operators dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable tourism in their respective markets.
