This company was founded in 1989 under the name Prego Rent a Car. In 2000, it purchased the Europcar franchise, the largest and most prestigious car rental company in Europe. Thus, Prego Motor of Costa Rica SA became Europcar Costa Rica, offering a wider range of services with the standards of an internationally renowned company but keeping its staff and capital 100% Costa Rican.
Europcar offers a systematized reservation service for Costa Rica and for 130 countries around the world, which guarantees a constant number of mainly European customers for the high seasons of the year (December to February). It also offers the option of applying frequent flyer plan miles from more than 15 airlines.
