Description

Equus Erro Hostería is located in the southern part of Ecuador's Manabí province, in the buffer zone of Machalilla National Park, the second most important park in the nation after the Galapagos. This destination, where the mountains embrace the sea, is highly visited from June to October when humpback whales (Megaptera novaengliae) make their impressive appearances. The site was declared the nation’s first whale sanctuary.

Manabí has other major attractions. It is of great interest to ornithologists for bird-watching, while the remnants and settlements of five indigenous cultures found in Salango attract dozens of archeologists. The area also has primary forest, tropical dry forest, and tropical moist forest.

Equus Erro Hostería takes great care to provide clients with several options for entertainment including excursions to Isla de la Plata, scuba-diving, snorkeling, horseback riding along the beach, visits to museums and communities in the park (such as Agua Blanca, the habitat of the particularly beautiful mot-mot birds), tours to sulfurous pools, beaches, and other treasures offered in the region.

  • EcoBallenita Foundation: aims to support the protection of coastal and marine resources to conserve biological diversity and endangered species.
