Making a Difference

Percentage of local employees: 70%

We have a marine turtle protection program to preserve these endangered species. Every year, turtles come to lay their eggs on our beach and in 2009, we helped to release 4,100 turtles.

We have also adopted a local school. Financial and material donations, including those from guests, contribute to the improvement of conditions in which local children study. Also, reusable eco-bags are sold in our boutique and for each bag sold, we donate $1 USD to the local elementary school or other associations.

Once a week, during Green Day, a botanical tour is organized to show the richness of flora found within the resort and to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity. Other related activities include creative workshops with children using recycled materials.

Organic waste is used to produce compost on site.

Also, through our sustainable purchasing policy, we avoid the purchase of endangered species, especially fish.
