Since 1992, Careli Tours has shared its passion for travel and the genuine exploration of Nicaragua’s history, culture, and nature. The company proudly promotes tourism destinations such as the indigenous communities of the Pacific and Caribbean coast; the colonial cities of León and Granada; the three UNESCO biosphere reserves of Bosawas, Isla de Ometepe, and Indio Maíz-Río San Juan; 78 protected areas and 47 private reserves that combined represent nearly 30% of Nicaraguan territory; Lake Managua and Lake Nicaragua, the latter with 365 islets; 25 impressive volcanoes, 6 of them still active and 12 with crater lakes; and more.

Our staff members are the flag-bearers of our company’s reputation. We have fully bilingual tour guides (Spanish/English) and several speak other languages fluently, such as French and German. Ours is a progressive company that is committed to doing business sustainably to avoid harming the environment and prevent pollution. We carefully select the tourism products we offer and promote best environmentally-friendly practices and respect for the local communities we visit.

Careli Tours also develops an annual environmental education project called “Eco-School” at the Pedro Joaquín Chamorro school in the city of Granada, with the following basic elements:

  • Primary school: interactive talks, drawing and writing contests.
  • Secondary school: promotion of bird-watching, relating it to ecotourism and the need to conserve habitats.
  • Solid waste management and recycling program: give the school center the tools and knowledge needed to sort solid wastes.
  • Improvements to infrastructure with environmentally-friendly buildings.
  • Cultural exchanges between foreign visitors and the student population, using the environment and its conservation as a connection.

Careli Tours is a member of Tour Operators Promoting Sustainability (TOPS), a specialized global platform of tour operators dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable tourism in their respective markets.

Our rates vary since they are subject to the requirements and itineraries requested by the clients.

Getting There

Nearest international airport: Managua (MGA)

Travel time to nearest airport: Depends on the destination the client is visiting. For example, transport time is 25 to 30 minutes from the city of Managua.
