The nearby Greamhall Nature Sanctuary is a nesting place and sanctuary for indigenous birds, and a swamp ecosystem unto itself, with lakes, rivers, fish and various types of mangroves and other trees. The popular Harrison’s Cave, the island’s most popular attraction, is hundreds of feet below sea level and has impressive stalactites and stalagmites and waterfalls and is 25 minutes away. Additionally there is Ocean Park, an aquarium which displays local sea life found in the waters surrounding Barbados. The Wildlife Reserve is located approximately 40 minutes from the resort and is home to local wildlife including the green monkey. Catamaran tours to swim with the turtles and snorkel are available from the resort. Bridgetown historic area, 20 minutes from the resort, is the oldest town center in this hemisphere, being even older than that of New York City, and is a replica of the parliament buildings in Westminster, London.

We host a number of beach and road clean-ups, and are the founders of the Maxwell Beautification Project, a project which aims to promote sustainability and environmental best practices by beautifying the surrounding community, providing bins, lighting, benches, and signage. Additionally, the resort donates financially to a number of local charities and donates food to the HIV/AIDS Foodbank.
