Rosalie Bay Resort is located at the foothills of the Morne Trois Pitons, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, on the southeast coast of Dominica. This eco-boutique resort sits on 22 verdant acres (9 hectares) where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Rosalie River. Here, three species of endangered sea turtles come ashore annually to nest on the resort’s protected black sand beach.
Created by a US ex-pat, Rosalie Bay Resort was a labor of love nine years in the making. The resort was built entirely by hand using only local and sustainable materials. The result was a boutique resort that shares the beauty of the island with visitors, empowers local residents, and protects the environment.
Rosalie Bay is a pioneer in its environmental efforts. We have the largest wind turbine in the region and are the founders of Dominica’s sea turtle conservation program. The resort features 28 spacious accommodations, organic cuisine, a nature-inspired spa, a nature trail, a wellness program, and more. Adventure is just steps away with hiking trails in rainforests, near waterfalls, and to secluded grottos. Stunning natural beauty and modern touches work in perfect harmony to create a vacation that is simply magical.
Tucked within a lush landscape among heliconia, lilies, and hibiscus are nine cottages housing 28 rooms and suites at Rosalie Bay Resort. Attention to detail is seen throughout each hand-built accommodation -– from hand-carved hardwood four-poster beds, armoires, and writing desks to colorful original local artwork and luxurious bathrooms with granite countertops, vessel sinks, and rain showers. Accommodations offer views of the Atlantic Ocean, Rosalie River, and vibrant gardens.

Rosalie Bay Resort is a pioneer for its sustainable efforts on Dominica and is the only Green Globe Certified resort on the island. Energy is generated from more than 200 solar panels and a 225 kW wind turbine, which is the first wind turbine on Dominica and the largest in the region.
From LED lights, to chairs made from recycled materials, to sustainably-produced cotton towels and UV-filtered natural spring water, every detail at this eco resort puts the environment first.
Rosalie Bay founded the sea turtle conservation efforts on Dominica to protect these endangered creatures. Every year between March and October, three species of endangered sea turtles -– leatherback, green, and hawksbill -– nest and hatch on the resort’s black sand beach. Guests can take part in educational walks along the beach, patrol at night to protect nesting sea turtles, and be on call for when hatchlings make their way out to sea.
In addition to being sustainable, Rosalie Bay Resort is proud of its efforts to help the local economy. The resort was built by hand by locals and continues to be a major source of employment for the local village.
