Secrets Marquis Los Cabos is dedicated to ensuring the preservation and enhancement of the environment in and around the resort. Secrets Marquis Los Cabos is proactive in its environmentally-friendly practices through various sustainable initiatives, which include:

• The water desalting plant at Secrets Marquis Los Cabos is a vital initiative at the resort. It removes the salt from ocean water, and the fresh water is then used as the only water supply in the resort. In this way, we are able to conserve water and refrain from using the local water supply.
• The resort has water treatment plants for waste water.
• Eco-friendly soap is made from cacti in our laundry room, helping reduce the use of chemicals and provide guests with all-natural soap.
• The resort has a recycling program.
• Compost is made on-site from the uneaten and unused vegetables and organic matter that is left over in the kitchen. The compost is then used as fertilizer in the gardens. This is beneficial because it avoids the use of chemical fertilizers in the resort and provides our plans with all-natural fertilizer.
• Secrets Marquis Los Cabos also manages a sea turtle protection and release program. Each year between the summer months of May and August, the resort is dedicated to protecting the turtles that come to nest on the resort's beach. Once the baby turtles hatch, we invite guests to participate in turtle releases. During these releases, staff and guests protect and guide the newly-hatched turtles to the ocean so they can be in their natural habitat.

We earned the Rainforest Alliance Verified™ mark by meeting the rigorous sustainability criteria developed by the Rainforest Alliance, demonstrating our commitment to reducing our environmental impact.
