Description

Solentiname Tours is the only tour operator and destination management company in Nicaragua with the TINKTO Independent Tourism Guide Seal of Quality. We offer services for groups, families, incentive travelers, conferences, and conventions. We are committed to taking special care of the interests, personal needs, and budgets of our customers.

We have developed adventure tourism in Nicaragua in a professional way that is harmonious with the conservation of natural resources, ecosystems, our history, and cultural treasures. For this reason, our company is the only Nicaraguan member of the Adventure Travel and Trade Association (ATTA). We also specialize in educational tourism, luxury and sustainable ecotourism, and first-class and senior clientele.

Making a Difference

Solentiname Tours was founded under a sustainable tourism concept that is included in all office procedures, guide training, and the development of each travel itinerary. We are committed to mitigating the negative impacts of human activity on the environment and we aim to help conserve and restore our natural and cultural heritage.

All of our customers receive an invitation to be sustainable travelers from our tour guides as part of their introduction to the country. We create and offer the "Nicaragua Tour Map - Sustainable Traveling," which outlines our sustainable tourism services at different destinations. The map identifies "Life Points" -- places where we do sustainable tourism activities that offer experiences with local people. Guides and local people alike are prepared to provide the clients with an excellent stay.

At Solentiname Tours, we prefer to use hotels verified by the Rainforest Alliance. Tours in Nicaragua and other Central American countries also include companies with other sustainability certifications.

We have supported sustainable development in the Solentiname Archipelago since 1999 and also collaborate with other areas in Nicaragua’s protected areas system and private wildlife reserves. We also train guides in these areas to offer nature tours.

Solentiname Tours is a member of Tour Operators Promoting Sustainability (TOPS), a specialized global platform of tour operators dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable tourism in their respective markets.
