Costa Rica Sun Tours is a full-service tour operator specializing in personalized and innovative custom sustainable tourism programs to Costa Rica. Our 25 years of uninterrupted service gives us the resources and experience necessary to provide unique, authentic, safe, and fun travel experiences.

We believe that sustainable tourism can minimize negative effects from travel by helping conserve the environment, preserving local cultures, and promoting authentic cultural exchange. Our goal is to make sure that generations to come are able to enjoy the vast natural and cultural riches of beautiful Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is a model for sustainable tourism. In fact, tourism has contributed to the conservation of approximately 25% of Costa Rica's landmass. Since our beginnings in 1985, our aim has been to provide fun, authentic, and safe travel experiences while protecting these places of extreme beauty from disappearing and supporting the sustainable development of local communities.

We foster authentic cultural exchange by working closely with several rural entrepreneurial projects and local schools. John Aspinall, our owner and founder, serves on the board of the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS). OTS focuses on education, research, and tropical forest conservation and maintains three biological stations in Costa Rica: La Selva, Las Cruces, and Palo Verde.

We also support "Friends of the Parks." Our donations support park rangers and national park infrastructure. We were among the first companies in the country to be verified by the Rainforest Alliance and receive the Certification for Sustainable Tourism. We continue to influence the industry standard as members of the recently formed Tour Operators Promoting Sustainability (TOPS) initiative and the National Ecotourism Association (CANAECO).
