Description

Hotel & Bungalows Mayaland is the first hotel in the world to be built alongside an archeological site. Mayaland is next to temples of the splendid pre-Hispanic Mayan city of Chichen Itzá, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is also one of the seven new wonders of the world.

The hotel is in an ecological setting with endemic subtropical vegetation that is typical of the Yucatán Peninsula. Its gardens are alive with butterflies and birds, many of them native to the region, and it is surrounded by the rich Maya culture and the traditions of local indigenous communities.

Since we opened in 1921, we've had policies for environmental protection and stewardship, as well as economic and cultural integration with local communities.

We actively participate in and promote best practices for sustainable tourism and the contemporary Maya culture and serve as a forum for popular expression and interpretation of Maya traditions, uses, and customs.

We contribute to environmental well-being with our programs to conserve local plants and animals and promote best practices to our guests. We've also established educational programs with local businesses to improve the quality of life for their communities, and we support other programs with the participation of local communities. Our company also participates in the World Responsible Tourism Day celebration.
